Margie Nell Allen Johnson peacefully passed away while her granddaughter sang “Amazing Grace” to her. Margie was born February 7, 1955, in San Antonio, TX and was the 9th sibling born from the holy union of John Earl Allen and Rosie Elizabeth Welch.
Raised in this large family, Margie was given the opportunity to nurture and expand her love for the Lord and his word. Marge was a lifetime member of Hill County Gospel Assembly (Previously Gospel Assembly of S.A.) Margie was a long-time resident of San Antonio and worked into her 80s. She enjoyed the extra money so she could enjoy her fishing at the coast, train rides to Bronson, Missouri to watch her favorite country and western singers. Dollywood was a “must do” trip but the main reason to pad her pockets was so she could spoil her grandchildren on their birthdays and holidays throughout the year.
Margie moved to Bandera in 2008 to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren, The Hill Country was home to several other close relatives. In April 2021 with her health declining, Margie needed specialized care and entered Bandera Nursing and Rehab where she lived until her passing.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents and all eight of her siblings.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Jackson (Chuck) of Bandera; grandson, Dylan Jackson (Ann) of Fort Lavaca; granddaughter, Devin Puckett (David) of Bandera; great grandchildren, Casen Williams, Chase Williams, Logan Jackson; nephews, Larry Allen (Mattie) of Kerrville, Neal Worthey of Boerne.
Her family would like to thank the staff of Bandera Nursing and Rehab for the wonderful care she received while she was there. Alama Hospice was instrumental in her care during the final period of her journey.
