Anita Rodriguez, age 86, of Comfort, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2025, in San Antonio, surrounded by the love of her family.
Anita was born on January 15, 1939, in Kendalia, Texas, to Maria (Rendon) and Pablo Valdez. She spent her early years in Kendalia before moving to Boerne as a teenager. In her young adult years, she settled in Comfort, where she would build a life and remain for the rest of her days.
A devoted mother, Anita raised three children and found her greatest joy in caring for others—both in her personal life and through her long-standing career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her final role was at Town and Country Nursing Home in Boerne, where her compassionate spirit left a lasting impression on residents and coworkers alike. In addition to her work as a CNA, Anita also served in EMS and was proud to have helped bring several babies into the world—an extension of her lifelong gift for nurturing others.
Though she didn’t regularly attend church, Anita held firm to her Catholic faith. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—watching her favorite novelas with a warm cup of coffee in hand and, most of all, spending cherished time with her family. She will be remembered as a hard-working, selfless woman who always made sure those she loved were taken care of.
Anita is survived by her beloved children, Louisa Rodriguez, Jimmy Sabaria (Anna), and Alice Driskell (James) Kathy Ureste; her grandchildren: Jimmy Sabaria, Jessica Sabaria, Anita Rodriguez, Johnathan Rodriguez, Shunika White, Stephanie Carlos and Vickie Carlos; and five great-grandchildren who brought her much joy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Maria and Pablo Valdez, and her siblings: Vera Valdez, Stella Valdez, Fred Valdez, and Paul "Peewee" Valdez.
Anita’s legacy of love, strength, and compassion will continue to live on in all those she cared for and deeply loved.
