Marie E. Brown

Marie E. Brown, 89, passed away on June 22, 2023, at her residence in Kerrville, TX. She was born on May 18, 1934, in England. 

Marie has been a member of the Unitarian Church in Kerrville since 2004 when she and her UU Minister husband Rev Dwight Brown relocated to Kerrville to enjoy their retirement in the Hill Country.

Marie immediately loved the small congregation, and they loved her back. She played a key role in their ministry. She initiated and organized Forums before the services; she implemented the Adult Religious Education curriculum; she helped with Children’s Religious Education; she even took the church trash cans to the curb weekly while her health held (since she lived down the street from the church). She supported UBARU, the retreat center in Mountain Home, and new buildings were named in honor of her and Rev Dwight.

Even though she did not drive she maneuvered all over town on her motor-powered tricycle. She hosted so many events for the church in her home. She was a positive force in the world, and she will be missed tremendously. For the last years of her life, she lived at Juniper Assisted Living where she created friendships with her neighbors that she cherished deeply.

Rest in Peace Marie. You lived life well and made a difference in our lives!
