Martha "Marty" Banks Obituary

Martha “Marty” Banks, 82, passed away from this life on March 24, 2023 at her home in Kerrville.

Born on June 2, 1940 in Keene, New Hampshire to William and Edna Wichland and the “middle” child of seven children.

She graduated from Keene High School in 1958  and from Elliot Community Hospital School of Nursing 1961, receiving her RN license. She started her RN career in Greenwich, Connecticut  at the Greenwich Hospital, where she met her husband Robert “Bob” Banks. They married September 7, 1963.

They had two sons, Robert Junior in 1965 and Kevin in 1969. They moved to Clear Lake, Texas in 1978, where she fulfilled her nursing career doing hospital work, private duty nursing, enjoyed her years at Johnson Space Center, the University of Houston, Clear Lake, assisting students with medical advice. She retired in 1990.

Moved to Kerrville in 2000, where she enjoyed retirement with her husband. She and Bob enjoyed country western dancing, cooking, traveling the US, antiquing and daily walking exercise.
