Melda Lynn (Gifford) Magill

Melda Lynn Magill passed away peacefully in her home, with her children by her side on December 30, 2025. She was born on June 21, 1950, in Lawton Oklahoma to her parents, Melvin and Lynval Gifford.

Melda Graduated from Geronimo High School in 1968. After graduation, she traveled around before landing in Corpus Christi where she met and married the love of her life, Marshall Magill. During this time, she raised their three children: Mitchell, Meagan, and Will. They stayed in Corpus Christi until 1997, when they moved to the Texas Hill Country. She worked at Sid Peterson Memorial Hospital for a few years and then went into Home Health Care until she retired in 2016.

Melda was an avid reader and a biblical scholar. She enjoyed learning about ancient history and engaging in long meaningful discussions. She was a lover of wildflowers
and nature of all varieties. She lived a very simple life with a servant’s heart, above all else she loved her children and family the most. Melda was a very special person to all who knew her, showing nothing but love, patience, kindness, and grace to everyone.

Melda was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Lynval Gifford; her husband, Marshall Magill, and son Mitchell.

Melda is survived by her children, Meagan Magill (Wanda Dozier) and Will Magill, both of Kerrville; brother, Don Gifford (Katie Gifford) of Lawton Oklahoma; sister, Tresa Jackson (Jim Whitaker) of Harlington Texas. Also, many other relatives and wonderful friends, too many to name, who loved her very much! She will be greatly missed by us all.
