Meredith Faye Walden, 89, passed on from this world peacefully on January 6, 2024, in Comfort, Texas. Born Meredith Faye Reaves on December 23, 1934, in McKinney, Texas, she has been described as “the most perfect angel on Earth,” and those who knew Meredith know that to be true. She was always there for her family, a shining light of generosity and kindness.

Throughout her life, Meredith maintained a grateful and happy disposition no matter the circumstances, always doing her best to bring comfort to those around her. Now, she has found her own enduring comfort and everlasting peace in the eternal. She will be sorely missed.

She is preceded in death by her father, Therman Reaves; her aunt, Helen Mooneyham, who raised her and her three siblings after the untimely death of her young father; her brother, Gene Reaves; her sister, Mildred Cotton; and her husband of fifty-three years, Dexter Ray Walden, who passed on in September 2006.

She is survived by her sister, Peggy Stanley, of Sadler, Texas; her son and daughter-in-law, Monty and Sherry Walden, of Comfort, Texas; her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Tiffany and Adam Simmons, and great-grandchildren, Rylee and Parker, of Comfort, Texas;  her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Kamryn and Sean Kettering, and great-grandson, Aiden, of Leander, Texas; her daughter, Brenda Gail Walden, of Wahiawa, Hawaii; her grandson, Hank Walden, of Dallas, Texas; her grandson, Dexter Walden, and great-grandchildren, Isabelle, Jax, and Kimberlynn, of Pasadena, Texas; her daughter, Sharon “Shay” Walden, and Deb Wilson of Wahiawa, Hawaii; and many nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service in the coming spring. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Highland Cemetery Association, INC., PO Box 126, Melissa, TX 75454, or Embrace Hospice & Home Health is appreciated.
