Michael Joseph Larkin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Joseph Larkin, 60, of Harper, Texas, who went home to the Lord on January 26, 2025. Born on October 16, 1964, in Ridgewood, New Jersey, Mike was the beloved first born son of Tom and Grace Larkin. He grew up in San Antonio, Texas and graduated from Judson High School. Mike mastered several trades before settling on his true calling, master carpenter.

Mike married the love of his life, Cheryl Madson, in 2021. They built a life of love, laughter, and companionship on their homestead. Mike and Cheryl shared a passion for cooking, gardening, and camping. Mike was known for his sense of humor, and his ability to fix anything. He loved all things outdoors, but especially fishing.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl; his children, Lindsey and Zachary; his stepson, Brian Crabb (Jessica); his grandson, Arlo Crabb; his parents Tom and Grace Larkin; his brother Dominic Larkin (Lucy), and sisters Emma Grace Lavender, Patty Schroeder, Marie Marsh (Dennis), Jennifer Cullen (Tom), and Kristen Vander Meyden (Aron). Also, three aunts, an uncle, 23 nieces and nephews and 11 grand nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your local food bank in Mike’s memory.

Mike will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his legacy of kindness, love, and strength will live on in our hearts forever.
