Michelle Buchanan Bryant (July 09, 1972 – August 03,2023) was a beautiful, fun loving and spirited soul. She was born to Sidney and Mary Buchanan in Kerrville. She graduated from Ingram High School in 1990 and attended Schreiner University (1991-95) and University of Texas (1999) earning a bachelor’s in nursing.
Michelle was a brilliant and very talented nurse. Her care and devotion to others was what led her to nursing, especially the labor and delivery section. Michelle worked at Peterson Regional Care and Cristus Santa Rosa (New Braunfels), where she developed a program “Every Baby Matters” for first time mother’s transitioning home with their newborns. She would go to the house, weigh the baby, check the vitals of both mom and baby and make sure all needs and questions were met to put the new mom at ease. Michelle was so proud of the new program and excelled at her career.
She had a great smile, beautiful blue eyes and could light up a room. In photos, she would always be making a silly face or sticking her tongue out. Family was everything to her; holidays were always special, especially the fourth of July. Michelle could always be found in the kitchen cooking at holiday events. She enjoyed time on the water; fishing and going to the beach and lake.
Michelle’s life would seem too short to so many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her, understand, and felt her love and the imprint she left on their hearts. And that exceeds the quantity of time she stayed here.
She leaves behind a cherished family to carry on her memory; parents, Sid and Mary Buchanan; husband, Jason; sons, Cooper, Cash and Colton; sister, Lynette Garcia; brother, Jason Buchanan; nephew, Blake Garcia; niece, Taylor; mother and father-in-law, Jack and Charlene Bryant. She will be remembered by so many other dear friends and family.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Kerrville.
