Olga G (Rodriguez) Rodriguez

Olga Graciela Rodriguez, lovingly known as Tita, passed away peacefully in Kerrville, Texas, on June 19, 2025, at the age of 92. Her life was a quiet testament to love, faith, and grace — qualities she shared with all who knew her.

Born on March 6,1933, in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico, Olga grew up surrounded by her siblings and the strength of her mother, Angelita. Despite losing her father at a young age, she remained joyful and close to her brother Miguel, forming bonds that would last a lifetime.

She began working as a young girl alongside her mother as a fashion designer and later followed her deepest calling: to serve God and others. After completing six years of religious study in Monterrey, she became a catechist and eventually joined the Third Order of Seglar Franciscans, living her faith with quiet humility, whether in prayer groups, her home, or her daily interactions.

To her family, Olga was more than a mother — she was a spiritual anchor, a source of gentle wisdom, and a safe place for hearts in need. Her faith was deep, her presence calming, and her love unwavering. To many outside the family, she was like a second mother, always offering peace, kindness, and guidance.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Salvador Plowells, and her beloved son, Salvador “Chavalín” Plowells.

Olga is survived by her daughters, Maria Eugenia Riojas and husband Mario, Gabriela James and husband John; her sister, Maria Luisa Foreman; her grandchildren, Diego Plowells, Juan Pablo Riojas, Abraham Riojas, Karola Ibarra, Oscar Reina, and Marisol St. Thomas; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Ximena, Balbina, Hannah, Rebecca, Alex, Oscar, Oliver, and Liliana Mia.

She leaves behind a family forever shaped by her faith, her tenderness, and her quiet strength. We will miss her voice, her stories, her soft hands in prayer — but most of all, her presence.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to those who cared for Olga in her final days, especially the faith community at Notre Dame in Kerrville.

We give thanks for every year we shared with her and find peace knowing she now rests in the arms of the Lord she served so faithfully.

Olga Graciela Rodríguez, conocida cariñosamente como Tita, falleció pacíficamente en Kerrville, Texas, el 19 de junio de 2025, a la edad de 92 años. Su vida fue un testimonio silencioso de amor, fe y gracia, cualidades que compartió con todos los que la conocieron.

Nacida el 6 de marzo de 1933 en Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, México, Olga creció rodeada de sus hermanos y de la fortaleza de su madre, Angelita. A pesar de perder a su padre a temprana edad, se mantuvo alegre y unida a su hermano Miguel, forjando lazos que durarían toda la vida.

De niña, comenzó a trabajar junto a su madre como diseñadora de moda y más tarde siguió su vocación más profunda: servir a Dios y al prójimo. Tras completar seis años de estudios religiosos en Monterrey, se convirtió en catequista y finalmente se unió a la Tercera Orden de los Franciscanos Seglares, viviendo su fe con silenciosa humildad, ya fuera en grupos de oración, en su hogar o en sus interacciones diarias.

Para su familia, Olga fue más que una madre: fue un ancla espiritual, una fuente de sabiduría y un refugio para los corazones necesitados. Su fe era profunda, su presencia tranquilizadora y su amor inquebrantable. Para muchos fuera de la familia, fue como una segunda madre, siempre ofreciendo paz, bondad y guía.

Le precedieron en la muerte su esposo, Salvador Plowells, y su amado hijo, Salvador “Chavalín” Plowells.

A Olga le sobreviven sus hijas, María Eugenia Riojas y su esposo Mario, Gabriela James y su esposo John; su hermana, María Luisa Foreman; sus nietos, Diego Plowells, Juan Pablo Riojas, Abraham Riojas, Karola Ibarra, Oscar Reina y Marisol St. Thomas; y sus queridos bisnietos, Ximena, Balbina, Hannah, Rebecca, Alex, Oscar, Oliver y Liliana Mia.

Deja atrás una familia moldeada para siempre por su fe, su ternura y su serena fortaleza. Extrañaremos su voz, sus historias, sus manos suaves en la oración, pero sobre todo, su presencia.

La familia agradece sinceramente a quienes cuidaron de Olga en sus últimos días, especialmente a la comunidad de fe de Notre Dame en Kerrville.
