Patricia Mintari Obituary

On Thursday, June 9, 2022, Patricia Ann Mintari, generous friend to many and mother of five children, passed away at the age of 84.

She was born in Chicago, IL, on August 28, 1937, and spent a lifetime working in the airline and travel industries – visiting many countries, learning different cultures, and making life-long friends in the process. She enjoyed entertaining and cooking for her guests and was an accomplished and talented hostess. During her lifetime, Patricia was married to both James and Phillip, and she raised her five girls to be strong, capable, openhearted, and creative women.

Patricia Ann, as she referred to herself, also had a life-long love affair with the arts and enjoyed both painting and sketching. She loved her bright and cozy art studio and spent many hours practicing there. She called it her “P-Pod” and claimed that if a building could give hugs, her studio always made her feel loved and happy. Pat continued to take art lessons throughout her life and held the first formal showing of her own paintings when she was well into her 70’s. Patricia was also an incredible cook, devout Catholic, lifelong learner and could often be heard sharing her wonderful laugh.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Chester Raczynski, as well as her husbands, James Koos and Phillip Mintari. Patricia is survived by her five daughters, Jacqueline, Stacie, Diane, Barbara, and Sherri, their spouses and her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as her brothers Chester and Paul Raczynski and her sister Jane Bojan, and their spouses and families. Her beloved dogs remain as well.

It was Patricia’s wish that no funeral service be held, so a private Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date at a location to be announced.

She asked that those wishing to memorialize her life give to any of the following organizations that meant so much to her:

• Hill Country Arts Foundation, P.O. Box 1169, Ingram, TX 78025; https://ci.ovationtix.com/35687/store/donations/37505

• The Kathleen Cailloux Humane Society of Kerrville, P. O. Box 294810, Kerrville, TX 78028

• Notre Dame Catholic Church, 909 Main St., Kerrville, TX 78028; https://www.notredamechurch.cc/online-giving
