Peggy Ann Brown, 92, of Camp Wood, Texas (formerly of El Paso, Texas), passed away on August 31, 2024 in Kerrville, Texas. She was born on January 30, 1932 in Artesia, New Mexico to Cyrus and Clarice (Johnson) Hinshaw.
Peggy and her husband, Otice, were high school sweethearts and married on December 24, 1951. She was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. Peggy’s family and home were her lifelong career and passion. She loved her Lord and Savior and was involved in numerous Christian ministries around the world throughout her life. Peggy was generous of heart and spirit; always considering the needs of others before herself. Even during her last days, Jesus’ love continued to shine through her.
Survivors include her daughters, Connie (Louis) Webb of Camp Wood, Texas; Carol Robertson of Lubbock, Texas; Cathy (Glenn) Rutherford of Pagosa Springs, Colorado; six grandchildren, Andrew (Amy Lynn) Webb and Amy (Brandon) Price, Matt (Kalin) Robertson and Michelle Robertson-Wolfe, Kristen (Will) Sanders and Jordan (Daylene) Rutherford; numerous great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Artrip; sister-in-law Billie Hinshaw; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otice E. Brown; father, Cyrus Taylor Hinshaw; brother, Solon T. Hinshaw; mother, Clarice Hinshaw; sister, Betty Robinson; brother, Olen Russell Hinshaw; and sister, Ida Paxton.
Pallbearers include Glenn Rutherford, Louis Webb, Andrew Webb, Brandon Price, Matt Robertson, and Jordan Rutherford.
Honorary pallbearers include Clara McWilliams, Terry Haefer, Dortha Stoudt; Hilltop Village nurses and staff; and all of the Peterson Hospice nurses and support team.
