Peggy Sutton Obituary

Peggy gained her well deserved heavenly wings on Wednesday, March 20, 2024. She was born in Lufkin, Texas to Fred and Dorothy Adams Neely. In her early years she moved to Galena Park where she enjoyed playing the clarinet in the Yellowjacket band, she also played softball under the coaching of Mr. Hernandez while living in Jacinto City. Peggy married Loyed Sutton in 1972 in Houston, Texas. They lived in numerous places Hudson, Tx., Somerville,Tx and finally made their final destination in Kerrville, Tx.  Peggy was a small business owner as well as other customer service positions throughout her life. Peggy enjoyed coaching and umpiring softball, playing 42, watching and riding motorcycles as well as dancing and spending time listening to music with her family and friends. She really enjoyed spending quality time with her daughters. 

​She is preceded in death by her parents, Fred Neely and Dorothy Adams Neely; husband, Loyed Sutton; sisters & brothers-in-laws, Wylma Grant (Lonnie), and Dorothy (Dottie) Burkes (William “Stoney” Burkes; brothers & sister-in-laws, Billy Fred Neely , Robert (Bob) Neely and Frank Neely. 

 

​She is survived by her daughters, Sherrie Koch and husband Larry of Somerville, Carolyn Spittler and husband Nelton of Ingram, Misti Sutton and Fiance Shannon Williams of Franklin, Lona Hightower-Burns and husband Boderick “Bo” Burns of Ingram; bonus children, daughter, Lisa (Sutton) Humphries and husband Kenneth of Ingram and son Tony Sutton of Ingram; grandchildren, Anthony Harwell, Dustin Harwell, Ginger Buckley and husband William, Nathan Spittler, Jacob Tieman and wife Laura. William Spittler and girlfriend Sharon Wiggins, Nicholas Spittler and girlfriend Destiny Cribbs, Alexander Nitsche and girlfriend Kaitlyn Young, Morgan Nitsche, Malikye “Kye” Hightower-Douglas, Elye “E” Hightower-Kelly and Zayne Hightower-Kelly; great grandchildren, Bailey Harwell, Damion Harwell, Damian Buckley, Jarrod Tieman, Marshall Tieman and Violet Tieman; brothers and sisters-in-law, James Neely Sr.(Joann), of Texas City, Beverly Neely of Magnolia, Tx and Betty Fisher of Bridge City, Tx as well as numerous nieces and nephews along with her “adopted” children. Left to treasure her memory, her longtime dance partner and friend Lyle “Les” Lester of Brenham.
