Peter Louis Sorci

On February 13, 2026, Peter Louis Sorci peacefully passed away at the age of 83.

Peter was born in Pittston, Pennsylvania, to his mother, Beatrice Attardo. His father, Albert Sorci, was killed in the war. Pete was raised by his mother and his stepfather, Frank Mancuso. Never quite adjusting to the East Coast snow, Pete ran away to California at the age of 16 to live with his Uncle Angelo.

Pete loved his country and joined the United States Navy at the age of 19. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served aboard the USS Coral Sea (CVA-43).

Pete married and had three daughters: Gina Serpa and husband David, Missy Calhoun and husband David, and Karen Perrah and husband Mark. After a divorce, Pete shared 37 happy years with Mary Reaves. Mary brought three children into the relationship, making a loving family of six children, nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

He loved dearly his two sisters, Melina Thorpe and husband, David and Mary Fran Batt and husband, Ray.

Pete was especially proud of his work as a Quality Assurance Inspector for NASA Spacecraft. He worked for Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California.

In 2005, Pete found Kerrville. He loved the feel of it, the people, the river and the stillness of its beauty and would say “I have found my home”.

At this time, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Peter’s memory may be made to Peterson Hospice.
