Philip Rasor Obituary

Philip Hal Rasor went to meet his Creator and join his parents and deceased friends on April 17, 2017 at his home in Kerrville, Texas. On September 9, 1943 his parents, Hal and Isabel Rasor, were presented with a beautiful baby boy in Hawthorne, Ca. At the age of two he moved to Anson, Texas where he resided until graduation from Anson High. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and Boy Scouts; also participating in football, basketball, track, and baseball. In 1959 he married the girl next door, Clyda Faulks. While attending UTEP in El Paso he worked at White Sands Missile Range as a co-op student during the infancy of the space program. Upon graduation, receiving his BS in Electrical Engineering he worked for TRACOR designing Sonar for Nuclear Submarines. Later in the mid seventies he worked on the first computerized logging trucks for Schlumberger in South Texas. After the Challenger crashed he went to work for NASA designing software for the simulator that the astronauts trained by. In between jobs he had several businesses and managed to work on his Masters at the University of Texas and the University of Houston. Upon retiring he returned to Anson where he built customized computers and also did repair. In his spare time he spent many hours on the golf course while also assisting Clyda with her nursery business. He was preceded in death by his parents Hal and Isabel Rasor and two brother in laws, Jimmy and Gary Faulks. He is survived by his wife, Clyda of 57 years; five children, 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Children are Debbie and Tony Woodard of Mansfield, Texas, Dana and Paul Williams of New Braunfels, Texas, Kim and Larry Villanueva of Big Spring, Texas, Phil and Leanne Rasor of Canyon Lake, Texas and Derek Rasor of Sanderson, Texas and his brother Tom and wife Minnie of Anson, Texas, and sister in law Barbara Berry of Anson, Texas. Grandchildren are Eric Woodard, Justin Woodard, Catrina Reed, Melanie Ritchie, AJ Villanueva, Jessica Bond, Matt Villanueva, Cammi Williams, Shelby Rasor and Trey Rasor. His life will be celebrated by his family on April 30th with lunch and remembrances, much love and laughter and a few tears.
