Robert Taylor Sr. Obituary

Robert Michael Taylor Sr., 72, of Uvalde, Texas, passed away on December 11, 2025, in Uvalde.

Robert was born on October 31, 1953, in Carrizo Springs, Texas, to Ida and Edward Taylor. Over the course of his life, he lived in Washington and Odessa, Texas, before settling in Uvalde, the place he would proudly call home for the remainder of his years.

On June 18, 1984, Robert married the love of his life, Sandra, at the Uvalde County Courthouse. Together, they raised four children and built a life rooted in family, hard work, and devotion. Uvalde was not just where they lived—it was where they grew their family, made lasting memories, and established deep ties to the community.

Robert was a hardworking man who held several careers throughout his life. He worked as a government trapper and in the oil field as a derrick hand, but his final and most cherished profession was that of a Master Mason, a title he carried with great pride.

Outside of work, Robert found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved fishing and was known for his remarkable green thumb. From flowers to vegetables and fruit, his gardens flourished. When his children were young, he maintained a small yet abundant garden that provided generously for the family. One of his proudest accomplishments was an ivy plant that wrapped beautifully around his living room—a testament to both his patience and care.

Robert also had a deep love for writing. One of his greatest achievements was becoming a published author with his book Sceptor of Soren. Writing was a passion he returned to often, finding both purpose and expression through his words.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Taylor; his children, Robert Michael Taylor Jr., Joshua Caleb Welch (Connie), Christopher Michael Taylor, and Leslie Erin Chavez (Arturo); his siblings, Jan Brown (Andy), Tracy Taylor, Amanda Fawcett (Erid), and Sterling Taylor (Shelly); his grandchildren, Anthony, Sarah, Josh Jr., Maddie, Andrew, and Roslynne; and his great-grandchild, Ecedro.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Ida and Edward Taylor, and his siblings, Wesley Taylor and Albert Taylor.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on December 16, 2025, at Barksdale Cemetery.

Robert will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, a hardworking provider, and a man whose words, gardens, and craftsmanship will live on through those who knew and loved him.
