Russell “Stretch” Edward Perkins, 64, of Pipe Creek, Texas passed away March 13, 2022 at home with his wife, Katherine Perkins by his side after a short battle with cancer.
Russell was born 1957 in, South Bend, Indiana to Walter and Marie Perkins. He spent much of his time growing up on Lake Medina. He served as a MP in the United States Army during the 1970’s and he worked for many years on land rigs, stateside and overseas. Throughout his life he continued to enjoy the lake, riding his motorcycles, and always enjoyed sharing his musical talent playing his many instruments. As much as he loved these things, his love for his family was greatest!!
He is predeceased by his father, Walter Perkins; mother, Marie Perkins; sister, Barbara Kincad; and brother Larry Perkins.
He is survived by his loving wife Katherine Joyce Perkins; sons, Sean Perkins (Tammy) of Rockport, Russell Perkins II (Laurie Michelle) of Canyon Lake; step-sons, Nolan Gilliland (Amy) of Newalla OK, and Thomas Gilliland (Lea) of Rockport; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; sisters Bonnie Sigwald (Darrin) of Rockport, Phyllis Vander Meer of Leon Valley, and sister Judy McIntire of Pipe Creek.
It was Russell’s wish for no service to be held.
