Sandra Sue (Sandell) Merritt

Sandra S. Merritt (Sandy) lived life the same way she did everything else—boldly and on her own terms. A proud business owner and a true force of nature, she built more than a successful career; she built relationships, lifted those around her, and left a lasting mark on her community.

She loved a good day of fishing on the water, a glass of wine shared with friends, the buzz of a busy hummingbird feeder, a challenging puzzle, couch snuggles with her cat, conversation and laughs over a “non- competitive” game of cards or dominoes, and time spent with the people she loved most. Family and friendship were the center of her world, and she had a way of making everyone around her feel like they belonged there too.

She will be remembered for her strength, her sharp wit, her independence, and the many lives she touched simply by being exactly who she was. A heart that is broken is a heart that has been loved. And a life filled with love is a life that has been lived. Sandy did both.

If you raise a glass of wine, cast a line in the water, or laugh with good friends, think of her. That would be the way she would want it. And knowing her, she’s watching over us and saying “W.O.Y.”….Waiting on YOU!

In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to Peterson Hospice or Kerrville Lions Club in honor of Sandy Merritt.
