Shane Troy Ulanday, 57, began his new life with God on September 4, 2024, in Hunt, TX. He was born on January 25, 1967, to his mother, Estrella "Essie" Ulanday, on Oahu, Hawaii and was raised by his grandparents, Bernaldo and Veronica Ulanday.
After graduating from Waimea High School, Shane joined the National Guard. He would later join the Army in 2007 in San Antonio, TX and retire as a Sgt. E-5. His family was very proud of his service in the military.
Shane married his first wife in Hawaii, though this relationship wasn't permanent they would have three children together, Briana, Cameron, and Shannon. In 1996, Shane and his children moved to Connecticut before returning to Hawaii. He would then meet Cher, and they would have their first son together, Jordan. The family settled in Texas in 2002 where Shane and Cher would get married and have their final child, Jireh, making him a proud father of five.
His legacy will live on through his family, who he loved fiercely. They will always remember him as a God-fearing man who was there for them when they needed him and was the rock they all leaned on.
To say that Shane loved fishing would be an understatement. Even during his last months, he was still purchasing fishing gear. Although fishing was his favorite hobby, he had a cherished gun collection and enjoyed hunting. He also loved to cook, whether it was BBQ, Hawaiian, or seafood, his food was always delicious.
He was preceded in death by his mom and grandparents.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Briana Lowery (Chris), Cameron Ulanday, Shannon Ulanday, Jordan Ulanday, Jireh Ulanday, Anna Crittenden; siblings, Alan Sharon (Danielle), Kevin Sharon (Wendy); aunts, Christine McDaniel and Loraine Stout; uncles, Mark Ulanday (Debby), Bernaldo “Blu” Ulanday Jr. (Rena); grandchildren, Leilani, Annabelle, Alona, Paisley, Selma, Corbin, Everest; and many other loved ones and friends.
