Sherri Taylor Obituary

Sherri Ellen Taylor,58, went to be with her Lord on November 27, 2024, at her home in San Antonio.

Born on October 19, 1966, at Beale Air Force Base in California, Sherri was the beloved daughter of the late Roy and Betty Taylor. Growing up in a military family, she lived in various states, including California, Michigan, Illinois, and South Dakota.

Sherri graduated from Wall High School in Wall, South Dakota, in 1984 and pursued her passion for cosmetology, graduating from Lake Area Technical School in Watertown, South Dakota, in 1985. Her adventurous spirit led her to Texas in 1988, where she began her career as a stylist at Sam’s Salon. In 1998, she furthered her education by earning an associate’s degree in general studies from San Antonio College, which paved the way for her career working in insurance for Banker's Life and USAA insurance company. She worked at USAA until her retirement in January 2024.

She attended the Potter’s House church in San Antonio, and was known for her love of travel, which once took her to the high seas as a hair stylist on a cruise ship. Her creative flair was evident in her numerous crafting projects and her passion for thrifting, always on the lookout for treasures to transform.

Sherri's vibrant personality and social nature endeared her to many, and she cherished her close-knit group of friends with whom she shared countless adventures, milestones and celebrations.

She is survived by her son, Shane Taylor of San Antonio; sister, Teresa Lopez (George) of Kerrville and their six children; brother, David Taylor of Savannah, Georgia, and his two children; aunt and uncle, Linda and Donald Beahm of Boise, Idaho, and their two children; along with numerous cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends. Sherri will be fondly remembered for her fun-loving spirit and her ability to make friends wherever she went.

n lieu of flowers, donations in Sherri's memory can be sent to the American Cancer Society or the Lymphoma Foundation, as Sherri was a cancer survivor.
