Steve Craig Richard

Steven Craig Richard, 63, of Ingram, went to be with His Lord on July 15, 2023. He passed peacefully in his home surrounded by prayer and love. 

He was born in Worland, WY to Stanley and Shirley Richard on January 22, 1960. Steve was born with a inquisitive spirit that he embraced throughout his life. He had an exciting young life, was extremely intelligent, loved to explore, sometimes a little too much. 

Steve worked as a contractor, handyman, truck driver and the list goes on. He was gifted with understanding how things worked and could fix just about anything. He loved children and so transformed into "doodles the clown" for many years to teach and entertain them. Steve was skilled in the art of Lapidary and jewelry making. He was also a lifelong rock hound.

July 14, 1997, was a defining moment in his life. Steve found the Lord after many years of poor choices with life threatening consequences. His health declined rapidly and in 2003, he would leave Worland to be punt on a double lung transplant list. He waited 33 months for this precious gift. On July 29, 2006, prayers were answered, he received two lungs. He was a rockstar patient. Healing and gaining strength that amazed the transplant team. Seven days post transplant he walked a full mile. Soon after God put Lisa in his life, and they married on that familiar day, July 14, 2007. She was by his side throughout their 16 years of marriage and until he drew his last and final breath.

Steve was a man of God and 100% ready to go home to meet his Savior. And as he would say "get out of here". His lungs served him two weeks short of 17 years. By God's grace he overcame all odds, astonishing doctors with every year.

Steve and Lisa relocated to Ingram, Texas 2021. He was a man of great faith, not letting any obstacles stop him from as full a life as possible. He could see good where others could not and would advise anyone in need from his personal experiences. Celebrate Recovery was his platform to bring hope in Christ to anyone who reached out for help. All for honor and glory to God. 

Steve was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Lisa, two daughters, one son and eleven grandchildren. 

Steve has directed that memorials may be given to Haven on the Rock, 560 Rim Rock, Fort Laramie, WY 82212.
