Tammy Rene (Pruneda) Slaughter went to be with the Lord on November 9, 2023, after a lengthy battle with Lymphoma. Tammy was born April 5, 1961, in Tulsa, OK to Junior and Bobbi Pruneda. She spent the majority of her life in the hill country.
In 2010 she married Jimmy Counts in Davis, OK and shortly after moved to the Davis Mountains where they lived for 12 years. While there she became a certified EMT and was looking forward to helping others when her illness took over. She touched the lives of all the people she met in Kerrville and Fort Davis.
Tammy is survived by her husband, Jimmy Counts of Fort Davis, TX; parents, Junior and Bobbi Pruneda of Hunt, TX; siblings, Joe Pruneda and Kimberly Pruneda both of Kerrville, TX; daughters, Megan Wood of Portland, OR, Sierra Slaughter of Marfa, TX, Savannah Slaughter of Austin, TX; and several adoring nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. As one friend put it, “Tammy was a treasure.”
A come and go memorial will be from 1 pm – 3 pm on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Roddy Tree Ranch in Ingram, TX.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Peterson Hospice 250 Cully Dr Kerrville, TX 78028 or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation.
Special thanks to all the people from Peterson Hospice and Riverhills Health and Rehab.
