"Tom" Thomas Rene Ventro

Thomas “Tom” Rene Ventro, 68, of Center Point, passed away at his home on September 18, 2025.

He was born on August 27, 1957, in Newark, New Jersey, to the late Thomas and Theresa Ventro. Tom later married Viki Dolan in Las Vegas, and together they made their home in Center Point, Texas, where they have lived for more than 30 years.

Tom attended culinary school and pursued his passion for food as a chef and restaurant owner for about 20 years. He then began a new chapter working at the Kerrville Wal-Mart, where he dedicated another 20 years, most recently in the hardware department. One of the greatest joys of his time there was working alongside his son, Tommy.

Outside of work, Tom loved playing poker, video games, and reading comics.

He is survived by his children, Tommy Ventro and Lezah Dole, both of Kerrville; his brother, Richard Ventro of Kerrville; and his grandchildren, Anthony Dole of Brackettville and Scout Dole of Austin.

Services to honor Tom’s life will be held at a later date.
