On Friday, August 6, 1993 at the Woodlands Medical Center, Kimberly Kay Smith was preparing herself to bring Vincent Ryan Smith into the world as her husband, Joseph Weyman Smith was rushed from the field to his office in Spring, Texas, ran for his truck, and rushed off to meet who would become the love of a lifetime.
Vincent spent his childhood between Houston, Conroe, San Antonio, and finally Kerrville. He built strong roots with family and friends, developing a profound love of the outdoors, always leaning toward the tall Pines and strong, oaks and clear creek bed of the country, he came to love and the never ending search for the jumping fishing hole.
Everywhere Vincent landed he quickly made friends building bonds never to be broken, extending and receiving loyalty and trust among the connections, built in childhood and maintained throughout his life. Being a friend of Vincent was for all time, if you were a friend then you became family.
Vincent graduated from CyFair high school in 2011.
Vincent held a job at O’Reilly Auto Parts due to his love for cars and trucks, fast or slow, lifted or lowered, old or new- his interest was sparked if it burned fuel.
Vincent held a position at Burr Metro Construction under his stepfather and mother's supervision. There he became skilled in various aspects of building, demolition, and operating equipment with a particular love for demolition.
Around 2017, Vincent was invited to head up a security advisor/technician position at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio which he accepted. He remained with Saint Mary’s until Covid making it difficult for him to maintain his hours.
Around 2020 Vincent left San Antonio and St. Mary’s University, moving back to Kerrville, where he resumed his place beside his father at Smithco Demolition Services. Vincent took on a broad range of renovation/demolition tasks, proving his expertise time, and time again, and always bringing something great to the family.
In late 2022 until present, Vincent found an opportunity to work with Schilling overhead door in Kerrville. He soon realized that he fell in love with everything about his new home with Schilling OHD.
On January 15 somewhere around 9 PM, Vincent was driving his recently acquired 1998 mustang eastbound on I 10 near the 1604, crossing when he lost control and flip the car multiple times be ejected during the rollover. He sustained some head trauma that ultimately could not be overcome and left us finally at the UT Hospital in
San Antonio around 9:30 PM.
