Wilma Dean (Kistler) Boyd

Wilma Dean Kistler Boyd was born at the family farm in New Port Texas, the youngest of 7 children. Her family moved to Bowie Texas in 1956. She loved dancing and was active on her school basketball team until she injured her knee and could no longer play.

Wilma met the love of her life, Doyle Boyd, for the first time when she was only 14 years old. They were introduced by her brother Sammie while dining at the local Bowie Bus Station. Later, they were married at the courthouse and began their life together. Doyle was truly the love of her life and her soulmate for 67 years. They clung to each other through all that life handed them including the loss of their first child, and the birth of the next three Gerald Ray, Robin Kay and Kevin Lee Shay. She was the best mother anyone could ever ask for.

Doyle and Wilma lived in several places until they finally settled in the big city of Houston, where they lived and raised their three children and started their own business. Through all the ups and downs of life the one constant was her love and dedication to her husband, her children, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Wilma was a servant to all that she loved and to her Lord God. Nothing gave her more joy than holding babies, plants and flowers, music and dancing and keeping a household for her family.

She and Doyle vacationed all over the United States, first with their children and then with just each other, she loved to see new places.

On November 04, 2024, Wilma joined her Lord and Savior and is resting peacefully in paradise with all her family who have gone there before her. Wilma will be remembered as loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved her family unconditionally. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded by her parents, William Arthur Kistler and Dollie May Williams Kistler; infant daughter, Patricia Boyd; great grandchildren, Nathan Ray Boyd and Rohan River Berain; siblings, William Arthur Kistler, Jr., Mary Ann Kistler Holste, Marian Kistler Thomas and Sammie Lee Kistler.

Wilma is survived by her husband, Doyle Vane Boyd; children, Gerald Ray Boyd (Melissa Ruth), Robin Kay Boyd McCain (Martin Kelly), and Kevin Lee Shay Boyd; siblings, Florence May Kistler Jordan and James Nelson Kistler; grandchildren, Jason Ray Boyd (Lauren Michelle Sage), Stephanie Renee Petersen (Eric Thomas) , Justine Rachel Boyd , Brett Ryan Boyd (Kallie Michelle) Martin Taylor McCain, Meredith Gail McCain, Brooke Ann Boyd McGhee (Jacob), Braden Kevin Boyd, and Kelly Nicole Boyd; great grandchildren, Cayden Ray Boyd, Kaylee Michelle Mathena, Skylar Ann Mathena, Ashlynn Lafawn Boyd, Ryan Justine Boyd, Noah Thomas Petersen, Jacob Boyd Petersen, Kaila Renee Wooley, Josie Ryann Wyrick, Cason River Clyde Mitchell, Bennett Leighton Boyd, Caroline Michelle Boyd, Mary Claire McGhee, Maddox Houston McGhee, and Cameron Wesley Boyd.
