Wright’s Funeral Parlor has been a trusted part of the Kerrville community for over two decades — built on service, shaped by family, and now led with heart by a new generation of women.
Founded in 2000 by Cynthia D. Wright and Bobby J. Wright, our funeral home began with a simple mission: to provide meaningful, dignified care at a time when families need it most. Cynthia’s calling to funeral service began after the loss of her grandmother. Following her service in the U.S. Navy, she studied business at Schreiner University before graduating with a degree in Mortuary Science from San Antonio College in 1997. She began her career as an apprentice at Sizemore Funeral Home — the very business she would later purchase and reimagine as Wright’s Funeral Parlor.
In 2019, Cynthia passed the torch to her daughter, Melissa Hernandez, continuing the family’s legacy with a renewed commitment to personalized, affordable care. Under Melissa’s leadership, Wright’s has grown into a woman-owned, community-centered funeral home — known for its warm, welcoming atmosphere and intentional approach to service.
Today, we remain deeply rooted in our small-town values, offering transparent pricing, thoughtful guidance, and space for healing. Every life is unique — and we believe every goodbye should be, too.
